whistle stop roma
up early for breakfast on the roof over-looking the city.
then took to the 'cobbled' streets.
decided to leave behind our coats and umbrellas behind as it was such a beautiful, warm day.

walked 500 miles round roma.
first main destination was the colosseum: AMAZING.
i love rome.
you can REALLY feel the ancient history.

managed to hit all our marks and more.
the fountain of four rivers, the pantheon, the time elevator (too much € for not enough entertainment), trajans column, piazza navona, the santa maria in via church, piazza esedra
even got lunch at 'cul de sac' where me, maria and melinda ate during our last levis visit.
got something i saw someone else eating: off menu: a secret house specialty: melted scamorza and prosciutto: mmmmm.

trevi
maximum's favourite parts of rome were the fountains.
he threw a euro in here and made a wish.
i didn't ask him what the wish was: you gotta keep these things to yourself.
but tradition says that if you throw money into the trevi fountain, you WILL return to rome.
i've never thrown money in a roman fountain but this was my third time there.

soak it all up, son
28hrs in rome.
struggled back to blighty for a hot ribena and bed.
i seem to be much more tired than maximum.
i've had a lovely trip with my boy though
hopefully it will be the first of many.
