z and me both couldn't sleep.

a bad day turns in to a worse night
so at 3am i decided i should drop some melatonin and at least catch a couple of hours.
at 3.10am just as i was coming DOWN on my pill, z said 'i'm going to be sick'
and then he was, repeatedly.
phoned (nurse) auntie nina and uncle mark and mum-mum and dad-dad in the UK for advice.
phoned the koh tao emergency medic number
everyone said go back to A&E and get him checked out.
no ambulances
no taxis
nobody on reception at the resort: just a manky, growling guard dog.
nobody answering my shouts for help
so the family got up and i carried z trying not to bump him as i went, fighting off a sleeping-pill induced coma.
a taxi finally caught us up at the end of the road and took us the last 100m

is z listless and drowsy because he's in trouble or is he listless and drowsy because it's 6am and he's been up all night and throwing up for half of it?

a bad night turns into a worse day
despite z throwing up some dioralyte, he was looking a little brighter so we decided to walk casually back to the A&E clinic for a checkup.
stopped at a dive centre to book myself a morning dive tomorrow.
came out to find z throwing up again and taking a turn for the worse.

at the clinic, they put him on a drip.
i went with maximum to look in a toy shoppe for knock-off lego and mrs.perou came to tell us that z was being transferred to koh samui main hospital (2hrs by boat away)

fortunately / unfortunately several other emergencies happened on koh tao last night/ today so a speed boat was organised to take five people to koh samui.
one with dengue fever, one after a diving accident (decompression sickness?)
waved goodbye to z and mrs.perou and went for a lonely lunch with maximum.
doesn't feel good to have the family split up.
they're saying three days before he'll be discharged but we're hoping it will be sooner.
the naff english wedding that's been building since we've been here is happening as i write.
i'm troubled by their playing primal scream's 'come together' at the ceremony: must be swingers.
but then maybe they're just playing the whole scremadelica album as a soundtrack to their wedding in paradise as we've just had 'loaded' too.
the groom is a weird looking fat guy with moobs and a ginger moustache.
the entire wedding party is a brighter shade of lobster.
talking of which, word in from mrs.perou on koh samui: z has a private room with a balcony and is happy, even wearing pink pyjamas as he has a tv and a remote control.
there were 4 attempts to get an IV in which seems like 3 too many...but he's on the mend: thanks to everyone for their well wishes and good vibes.
i place great value in positive vibes and group consciousness.
THANKYOU!
