tracey emins BED...DING
left our building site for another: tracey emin's new digs in margate
on arrival, met the writer of the article on tracey-queen-of-margate and he was talking about margate's regeneration and how many people are moving down from london (DFL's aka 'down from londons', as they're known in these parts...and who we disassociate ourselves with: we're in denial)
"margate is like shoreditch-on-sea", said the writer.
"except there's more peodophiles here than anywhere else in england*", i pointed out, "...and plenty of smack-heads"
*i was told this a while ago...have just fact checked this and it's NOT true...about the peodophiles at least.
you get a lot of house for your $ round this way
personally, i like it: colourful, derelict and photogenic
but thanet will have slipped into the ocean in a few years and the spiritual home of UKIP will be washed away.

a slow start and a quick shoot, in daylight, as there was no electricity in the building
tracey's pad is going to be EPIC when it's done
but it'll take a while (72 weeks apparently) and lots and lots of cash: i was sweating doing some rough maths as i was looking round thinking how to convert a derelict, 30,000 sq ft factory into something decent.
coincidentally, we looked at buying the house opposite a couple of years ago.
might have bought it too (£275k for a 5 floor georgian terrace) but it STUNK of cat piss.
back to our own building site after which now seems easy in comparison
