last night z couldn't get to sleep, due to a mystery pain

emerg-NZ (american pronunciation)
111 advised us to see a doctor in canterbury A&E where we arrived at 12.10am this morning
bounced to ashford A&E because canterbury didn't have the paediatric doctor we'd need to see
after seeing a surgeon at 2.30am in ashford, got home and put z back to bed at 3.30am after some food and drink because he'd be 'nil-by-mouth' when he woke up again.
back to ashford for an ultrasound at midday and another evaluation
before being given an all clear: i.e. no-one knows what's causing this pain so we'll call it an 'undefined pain' and it will probably go away...if it doesn't come back and see us.
bit of a shit saturday, mainly spent in hospital or getting to and from it.
but very happy that there's nothing obviously wrong with the young man

as we were playing cards with the sons, in front of the fire tonight, a large burning ember spat out, off an old gate post, past the fire guard and onto the sofa that maximum was sitting on.

i put a shit on you
over the last 9 years, i have regularly left the fire burning, safe in the knowledge that the fireguard would catch anything and i wouldn't burn down our 366yr old house.
this happening while we were there is more than fortunate
for a shitty saturday, i'm feeling very f***ing lucky today.
