snow much fun

snow much fun


we wanted some snow and then we got a lot.

drove mrs.perou's very capable 4x4 grand cherokee jeep to tescos for the weekly shoppe.
(the perou-mobile is sadly only 2WD)

realised i was whistling 'the frog song' as i was sailing past other less snow-capable vehicles crawling along the a299

tescos was enjoyably deserted when i arrived and by the time i was leaving people were panic buying.
the snow will probably be gone in a few days.

on the last downhill corner before home, i encountered an unexpected  JCB coming towards me with it's bucket down leaving me nowhere to go.
braking became sliding without slowing (downhill on snow) so i took the (slightly also unexpected) evasive action of accelerating, sliding the car sideways and driving up over a mound and into the adjacent field.

the ice-bunny cometh

the ice-bunny cometh


had a great roast chicken lunch then wrapped up and went to meet the co-inhabitants of the hamlet on the only reasonable hill for some sledging.

mr.bunny had a fine time and was largely well-ish behaved.
he will sleep well tonight
after all the chasing of other dogs and sledges going up and down the hill over and over again.

mr.bunny looks a bit like a polar bear when he's in the snow.
kind of a dirty off white.
no longer the arctic white of his puppyhood

he was very offended that more than one person said 'look at that boxer with a tail'

mr.bunny is an 'alapaha blue blood bulldog' he eats boxers for breakfast

this is me...apparently.

have had a lovely weekend with the family.

despite the sons' constant bickering and the occasional dog fight argument

the truck is loaded up with some of the office that was here and will be there.

HOPEFULLY i can get this 2WD perou-mobile up to the bunker tomorrow.


...but it's still snowing.
